Thousands of hours poured in to helping their club have earnt Laura Power and Wendy Donegan the Kieser Volunteer Recognition award for the 2026 Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football Netball League season.
Power and Donegan have taken on all sorts of roles through their time with South Bendigo and Golden Square resepectively.
The bar manager at Eaglehawk FNC, Kevin Price was highly commended.
All were presented with their awards at the Michelsen Medal and Betty Thompson Medal vote count and presentation night at Bendigo Club in Strathdale.
Whether it be helping co-ordinate teams, making salad rolls, serving drinks and so much more, all three play a crucial role for their club.
There are so many tasks to be filled by volunteers on match-days.
As it is for many helping at clubs, Donegan’s involvement with Golden Square began when her children were playing for the club in footy and netball.
Many seasons later and Donegan is still making salad rolls for home games, helping out at training dinners, and so much more.
The Power family links with the South Bendigo Bloods go many decades.
“Being part of the club and helping in some way is what I have done from a young age,” Power said.
Price has enjoyed plenty of banter with the parochial Eaglehawk fans during the many hours where he has taken on all sorts of challenges to help the Borough off the field and court.
