Rosa appointed as Bendigo FNL 2025 Senior Interleague Coach
The Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Simon Rosa as the Senior Coach for the BFNL Interleague program in 2025.
A local football legend, Rosa brings a wealth of experience to the role having played Golden Square FNC, the Bendigo Bombers and Peel Thunder in the WAFL. Simon also has previous representative football experience having pulled on the BFNL’s Blue & Gold on four occasions.
After making a permanent mark on both local and elite football over his illustrious player career, Simon has translated his superb on-field talents into a distinguished coaching journey where he has been involved with Golden Square Junior FC, the AFL Central Victoria Academy while also being the midfield coach for the BFNL Interleague team in 2019.
Rosa’s ability to develop players and build cohesive, high-performing teams has been widely celebrated.
Simon expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity stating "It’s a privilege to lead the BFNL Senior Interleague team in 2025. This league is full of incredible talent, and I’m excited to work with the players and showcase the strength of football in this region. Representing the league is a special honour, and I’m determined to ensure we perform at our best."
The BFNL are supremely confident that Simon will implement a positive culture and atmosphere that both attracts players and creates a positive environment for players to develop, grow, and succeed at the highest level possible.
BFNL Board Member, Todd Deary added, “Hosting the VAFA at the QEO is an incredible opportunity to celebrate our league's talent on a big stage. It's a chance for our players to test themselves against one of the state’s premier competitions, and we believe that Simon will lead our Senior team with distinction."
Our 2025 Interleague campaign culminate with a blockbuster match against the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) at the Queen Elizabeth Oval (QEO) on Sunday July 13. This highly anticipated contest will showcase the best players from both leagues in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
