The BFNL is excited to announce the appointment of Steph Freemantle as the league’s inaugural 15 & Under Representative Netball Head Coach, marking an exciting new chapter in the development pathway for young athletes within a major league.

A highly respected member of the Bendigo netball community, Steph brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience most recently at Strathfieldsaye FNC where she coached and played in the Storm A-Squad leading to a 2024 A-Reserve Premiership in 2024.

Steph’s involvement across multiple levels of community and representative netball has earned her a reputation for fostering team culture and driving high-standard performances.

The introduction of a 15 & Under Representative Netball team, paired with Steph’s appointment, is an exciting step for the League that will significantly strengthen the league’s junior development pathways.

BFNL Manager Tom King said, “We are thrilled to welcome Steph into this important new role. Her coaching credentials and enthusiasm for developing young netballers make her the ideal person to lead this program.”

“The launch of the 15 & Under representative team is a major step forward in expanding opportunities for talented junior athletes across our league.”

Steph will oversee team selection, program planning, and on-court development as the BFNL prepares to field its first-ever 15 & Under representative side in 2026. Trials and a team schedule that will include an Interleague matchup against Ovens & Murray will be shared with clubs and families early in due course.

The BFNL congratulates Steph on her appointment and looks forward to the positive impact she will have on the next generation of netballers.
