“Community Club” Kyneton Tigers seeking Senior Men’s Coach
The Kyneton Tigers are embarking on a search for a senior coach for 2024 after the announcement of Paul Chapman stepping down from the role as Senior Men’s Football Coach.
The Club is aiming to choose a new senior coach by end of the season with the work beginning immediately. A coaching Sub-Committee has been formed who will work on the advertising and selection process to provide recommendations and advice to the Club’s committee.
President, Hayden Evans said “Kyneton has gone through a strong growth phase in the last three years. Our Club is now well established as a leader in our region for its community focus and inclusiveness. We are extremely proud of our women’s footballers and our all-abilities team FIDA, that we established in recent years and who have grown from strength to strength. Community is at the very heart of how our Club operates. Our aim is to bring on board a senior Coach that embraces community and contributes to the teaching, improvement, and performance of not only our Senior footballers but who can also bring experience and leadership to contribute across all levels of the Club”. We have the largest supporter base in the region by far, among the most passionate in the league, and we look forward to supporting our new Coach’.

We have appointed long term supporter Guy Nelson as Chair of the Coaching Sub-Committee who is highly credentialled to run this process having a strong corporate governance background, long term connection with the Club and a football background”.
More about Guy Nelson:
Nelson, originally a corporate lawyer turned highly successful businessman over a period of 30 years; was an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank, where he was Head of Property Investment in Melbourne for 10 years. Importantly, he has significant corporate governance experience having sat on many Macquarie Investment committees. He was also served on an Advisory Committee to the Richmond Football Club CEO Brendan Gale, and was also a Director of Western Chances for 7 years, a not-for-profit organization helping disadvantaged young people in Melbourne’s western suburbs with education scholarships.
A local resident, Nelson resides in Metcalfe north of Kyneton and has been a supporter of Kyneton for over 20 years, including being a major financial supporter 10 years ago when the Club was in need. Nelson played a few games for Melbourne Football Club under 19s and then A Grade amateur football in Melbourne. He later coached at Under 19, Reserves and Senior levels in the Amateurs.
