ROUND 14 WEEK 1 NETBALL REVIEW | Gisborne takes points on Golden Square’s court

GISBORNE dominated the A-grade netball match at Golden Square on Saturday to start the split 14th round in the Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL season.
The all-Bulldogs clash was the only A-grade match played for the day.
Stung by defeat to Sandhurst the previous round at home, Gisborne made a flying start to this contest on the Wade Street court.
The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne charged to a 20-6 lead by quarter-time.
From there the experience and skill of a line-up which has won the past two A-grade premierships proved to be a telling factor.
Gisborne won the second term, 13-5, and the next, 20-4.
Was a tough afternoon for a young Golden Square team which is coached by Teigan Redwood as the team in red, white and blue motored to a 67-19 result.
It was a rest for the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye because Castlemaine is not fielding an A-grade team.
All of Storm’s other netball teams made their way down the Calder to play Castlemaine at Camp Reserve.

Action in A-grade will start at 2.30pm.
The unbeaten Kangaroo Flat will be on its court in Dower Park to play South Bendigo.
It’s a rematch of the sibling rivalry as Kangaroo Flat coach Jayden Cowling pits his skill against older sister and South Bendigo coach, Lauren Bowles.
