IT’S the showdown of the Bulldogs at Golden Square in Saturday’s start to the split 14th round of A-grade netball in Bendigo Bank Bendigo FNL action.

Golden Square will have home-court advantage in Wade Street for the match against Gisborne which starts at 3.20pm.

It’s a huge challenge for the Teigan Redwood-coached Golden Square against the premier of the past two seasons.

When these clubs met in Indigenous Round it was Gisborne which won 52-33 on its Gardiner Reserve court.

Both teams are on the rebound from defeat.

Golden Square could not repeat another upset against South Bendigo as the Bloods won last Saturday’s match at Harry Trott Oval by nine goals.

Down south it was another great contest between Gisborne and Sandhurst at Gardiner Reserve.

The Tarryn Rymer-coached Gisborne was beaten by five goals in the showdown with the Tamara Gilchrist-coached Sandhurst.

Gisborne goes into this match in third place, but just two points clear of South Bendigo.

It’s a rest for the Jess Mangan-coached Strathfieldsaye in A-grade this Saturday, but Storm will play at Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve in all other grades.

Week two of the split 14th round on August 9 features Sandhurst against Eaglehawk at Queen Elizabeth Oval.

Kangaroo Flat will be on its Dower Park court against South Bendigo as brother and sister, Jayden Cowling and Lauren Bowles coach the Kangaroos and Bloods respectively.
