MEDIA RELEASE - BFNL Board Update

The Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) announces that after 6 years of service, Cheryl Elvey has formally resigned from her position on the BFNL Board, effective immediately. Cheryl has been a valued member of the Board, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the league during her tenure particularly through her financial expertise.
The BFNL sincerely thanks Cheryl for her dedication and service and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
Assisting with a seamless transition, the BFNL is pleased to announce that Keely McDonald has been co-opted onto the Board in a casual position ahead of the 2025 season.
Keely brings a wealth of experience and passion for community football and netball, and the Board is confident she will make a positive impact in her new role. Keely has a legal background and has for the past 2 years served on the regional independent football tribunal.
BFNL Chair, Prof. Carol McKinstry acknowledged Cheryl’s contributions and welcomed Keely to the Board.
“Cheryl has been an integral part of our Board, and her leadership and commitment to the league have been invaluable. We thank her for her service and wish her all the best,” Carol said. “We are also thrilled to welcome Keely McDonald, who will bring fresh perspectives and energy as we continue to strengthen the BFNL ahead of the 2025 season.”
The BFNL remains committed to delivering strong governance and leadership for the benefit of all clubs and stakeholders as it prepares for another exciting season.
