BFNL unveils 53-player Senior Interleague training squad
The Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) is pleased to announce its 53-player Senior Interleague Training Squad, marking an important step in the league’s preparations for the upcoming representative Interleague matchup against the Ovens & Murray FNL on Saturday 23 May at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
With all nine BFNL Clubs represented, the squad reflects the depth of talent within the BFNL and brings together a mix of experienced performers and emerging players eager to represent the league on the interleague stage.
Head Coach Simon Rosa said the squad selection process had been both competitive and rewarding, highlighting the strength of the league.
“The depth of talent across the BFNL continues to grow, and that made selection incredibly challenging in the best possible way,” Rosa said.
“This squad gives us a strong foundation to build from, with a great mix of experience, leadership and players who are ready to take the next step at interleague level.”
“We’re looking forward to getting the group together, setting our standards early and building a team that represents the league with pride.”
Senior Interleague squad training dates:
- · Wednesday 6 May, Camp Reserve from 6:30pm
- · Wednesday 13 May, Dower Park from 6:30pm
- · Tuesday 19 May, Queen Elizabeth Oval from 6:30pm
- · Tuesday 21 May, Queen Elizabeth Oval from 6:30pm (Open training – Media welcome)
Rosa emphasised the importance of commitment and connection as the program progresses.
“Interleague is about more than just performance on the day — it’s about representing your league and your teammates,” he said.
“We want players to embrace that responsibility, build strong relationships within the group and create an environment that brings out the best in everyone.”
