BFNL again well represented at State Level
It’s the eve of the 2026 BFNL Season and once again, Bendigo FNL talent is well represented at a higher level and in 2026, players that are aligned to a BFNL Club spread far and wide across the VFL (Victorian Football League), VNL (Victorian Netball League) and SSN (Suncorp Super Netball) competitions.
The VFL Season is two rounds old and once again, the BFNL will be well represented at state level in 2026.
Leading the way is Strathfieldsaye who have had a red hot off-season, recruiting Zane Keighran, Drew Lloyd and Tyson McKenzie all of whom have picked up VFL affiliation ahead of the season. While two Strathfieldsaye youngsters, Pat Blake and Jaidi Jackson-Leahy put in strong pre-seasons to score list positions at Port Melbourne.
Also new to the list for 2026 is Gisborne’s James Gray and Dylan Johnstone. Gray was the captain of the BFNL Under 19’s Interleague side when the BFNL played the VAFA in July of 2025.

Other players with SSN alignment are Claudia Mawson (Gisborne, Bendigo Strikers & Melbourne Mavericks Reserves) Teal Hocking (Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo Strikers & Melbourne Mavericks Reserves) & Ruby Turner (Sandhurst, Bendigo Strikers & Melbourne Vixens Reserves).
