An early Christmas present for the BFNL community - view the Bendigo FNL season 2023 fixture NOW! ????
The 2023 BFNL season will commence on 15th April with several Round 1 matches of interest, with BFNL Grand Final day scheduled for Saturday 23rd September 2023.
Some key features of the 2022 BFNL fixture include:
As is regular process, clubs can continue to negotiate changes to start times into the new year, with any changes to be approved, announced, and captured online. The BFNL maintain the right to amend any fixtures from time to time, including possible future implications of COVID-19 restrictions on season fixturing.
Unfortunately, the Bendigo Football Netball League were unable to complete positive ongoing Interleague negotiations with another major league prior to Christmas, however discussions and negotiations will continue into the New Year with further announcements to be made in due course. The proposed Interleague provision within the current fixture for either May 20th or May 27th, may again revert to a split round if required.
The BFNL can also confirm the participation of 17 & Under and Open representative netball teams in the 2023 Netball Victoria Association Championships, to continue from the success of our 2022 representative netball program. Further announcements regarding coaching appointments and selection trials will occur early in 2023.
All 2023 fixtures will be uploaded to the new football and netball databases, PlayHQ and Netball Connect, in due course.

The Bendigo FNL again welcome Nicole Donnellon and Sharni McPherson as co-coaches of the 17 & Under BFNL representative netball team to compete in the Netball Victoria Association Championships, after successfully leading the BFNL team to the Association Championships Finals in seasons 2022 & 2023.
Nicole and Sharni bring a wealth of netball knowledge and growing levels of experience and success at BFNL, State, and regional Academy levels, and will again mentor and develop the brightest BFNL netball talent.
The BFNL sincerely thank all players who were able to commit to the 2024 BFNL netball representative program for showing interest and attending the trial process and congratulate all players who were selected for the initial 17 & Under squad.
The BFNL also sincerely thank all players who trialled for the 2024 program and were unsuccessful. The talent displayed during selections was of an extremely high calibre, which is exciting for the general future of BFNL netball.
2024 KEY TOURNAMENT DATES
Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) 2024 Senior Interleague Coach Ash Connick today announced a 61-player training squad as part of the preparation for the upcoming interleague match against the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) at Elsternwick Park, Brighton on July 6.
The imposing 61-player squad has representation from every BFNL club and will include a group of 9 talented players forming a “Futures Squad”. The Futures Squad will see one emerging talented player from each club involved in the elite training program to further assist with their football development.
The team will commence training in early June, with further details regarding the training program to be confirmed in due course. The initial training squad will be trimmed in late-June, prior to confirming the final 22-player team who will be selected to represent the BFNL upon its highly anticipated 2024 return to interleague competition.
On the announcing of the initial training squad, Connick said, ‘We are really pleased with the squad we've picked, and thankful for the volume of players who have made themselves available for representative selection’.
‘In selecting the training squad, the coaching panel have attempted to cover all bases as a lot can happen in football between now and game day’.
Connick continued, ‘We are excited to also announce the selected futures development players, who were nominated by their respective club coaches, and we are very confident this will be a great experience for these young players to support their development and progression into future representative programs’.
