QEO Ready for Finals

Construction work in the southwest corner of the Queen Elizabeth Oval is progressing well with the concrete slab for the new toilets and canteen due to be poured on Monday September 3.

The landscaped area behind the goals at the southern end of the ground will open to the public on Friday August 31, with new natural turf set to be laid behind the concrete bleachers the following week.

The current works being undertaken are due to be completed by January 2019.

Other work to be recently completed at the QEO has included construction of additional shelter to the Barnard Street end of the ground to improve spectators’ comfort.

The number of spectator entry gates to the BFNL Finals will remain the same as in previous years.

For the first three weeks there will be entry gates located in Barnard Street and in the Gaol Road carpark, located next to the QEO Cottage.

For the Grand Final there will be three entry gates into the ground located in Barnard Street, Gaol Road carpark, main double gate and the View Street, heritage gate.

Full access to the kiosk and toilets located next to the heritage gates will be available throughout the finals, as will access to the usual food trucks, coffee carts and drinks outlets.
