BFNL 2020 Fixture Annoucement
With only 60 days until Round 1, download the official 2020 BFNL fixture, including a new exciting announcement regarding the 2020 BFNL Indigenous Round Feature Match
The BFNL have today announced that during Indigenous Round (May 23rd), Sandhurst FNC and Eaglehawk FNC will battle for the 2020 Wirama Shields, with 2 blockbuster matches in the Senior Football and A Grade netball scheduled for the QEO.
In conjunction with the Dja Dja Wurrung Aboriginal Clans Corporation, a welcome/smoking ceremony will commence proceedings on what has become a highly anticipated event on the BFNL calendar.
The matches have been scheduled as a regular Saturday "Day" fixture.
All other clubs will participate in the themed Round as usual, with each Senior football and A Grade Netball team competing in their Indigenous themed apparel - designed specific to the history of each clubs region.
Further to this, some minor amendments to identified match times have been agreed upon by competing clubs. These small changes include:
- Round 1: Strathfieldsaye vs Sandhurst – Moved from Good Friday Twilight; to Easter Saturday Day match
- Round 3: South Bendigo vs Sandhurst – Moved from Day to Night match on ANZAC Day
- Round 3: Kyneton vs Strathfieldsaye – Moved from Day to Night match on ANZAC Day
Lastly, in case you missed it, following a trial implemented throughout 2019 to alter the schedule of the Netball match day start times, the 17 & Under Netball matches will revert to the 10.00am single court start time for 2020.
