Kangaroo Flat's Ruby Barkmeyer has been selected in the Victorian 17 / Under team for next years National Championships. The selection has topped off another stellar season for the Kangaroo Flat star who finished with 14 votes in the BFNL Betty Thompson medal despite missing a number of games with her VNL committments.
In another fantastic year Barkmeyer also represented the Australian team in May at the International Secondary Schools Netball Challenge in Fiji. Barkmeyer is one of only two regional based players to be selected in the Victorian team which started off with the initial squad of 50 before being reduced to the final 12 selected.
The 2016 BFNL Bart N Print "Rising Star" winner capped off a good season with a best on court performance with the Geelong Cougars in the Victorian Netball League Grand Final 19 and Under premieship win in August.
The Bendigo Football Netball League congratulates Ruby on her selection in the Victorian team and wishes her all the best for the National Championships.
