Lia Marrone 300 games & BFNL Life Membership

Golden Square Netball player Lia Marrone has achieved a major mile stone playing 300 senior games of netball in the Bendigo Football Netball League. The 300 games achieved last Saturday against Castlemaine came as a combination of 96 games with Kangaroo Flat between 1996 -2002 and 204 games with Golden Square. This Saturday Marrone will line up for Golden Square against her old club Kangaroo Flat at Wade St for game number 301.

Achieving the 300 game miles stone will see Marrone receive a BFNL Life Membership acknowledging her significant contribution to netball in the Bendigo Football Netball League. Marrone will join current Maryborough players Alicia Cassidy & Alisha Chadwick as current day players and Katrina Walters from Castlemaine who have achieved Life Membership.

Marrone’s achievements have been many over a distinguished career which has seen her win A Grade Premierships, 2008,2011, 2015 as a coach and player, A reserve premierships 2016, Interleague coach and personal achievement with Best & Fairest awards.

Marrone is a popular player around the Golden Square club and the BFNL netball competition and has played many roles in her career on and off the court.

The Board of the Bendigo Football Netball League congratulate Lia on achieving such a milestone.
